Sugar Plum Margarita

Inspired by the Nutcracker ballet, our Sugar Plum Margarita recipe uses an easy-to-make spiced plum syrup. A twist on the Christmas classic tale.

Category, Yields1 Serving

Ingredients

 3 oz Tequila
 2 oz Tangerine Juice
1 oz Fruity and Spice Simple Syrup
 2 tsp Ground Ginger
 1 Lemon
 Cherry liqueur splash
 Ice
Plum Slices Dipped in Cocktail Sugar for garnish
Dell Cove Spice Co.’s Pastel Purple cocktail rim sugar
 5 Dried Figs
 10 Dried Plums
 5 Dried Apricots
 ¼ cup Dried Cherries
 2 cups Water
 2 cups Sugar
 2 Caramom Pods

Directions

1

Rim the chilled glasses with cocktail rim sugar. Set aside. Add liquids to ice-filled cocktail shaker. Cover and shake very well. Strain into glasses, garnish and serve.

How to make the fruity and spice syrup:
2

Place water and sugar into pan over medium heat. Stir well until sugar dissolves, and then add remaining ingredients. Stir steadily until water comes to a boil. Then reduce heat to low and stir, and let simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove pan from heat and allow mixture to steep, uncovered, for at least one 1 hour. Taste mixture – if flavors aren’t strong enough, stir well and allow mixture to continue steeping. When the syrup has reached your preferred strength, strain the mixture through your chinois, and store the syrup in a bowl or glass bottle. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
