The royal blue martini is a sapphire-colored gem of a drink with just a hint of citrus flavor from the Curacao and citrus-flavored vodka, and the most beautiful jewel-toned color. We love it to celebrate patriotic holidays like Independence Day, Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, etc. But there’s really no wrong time to drink this sweet and sour deliciousness.
We include Curacao which is a liqueur flavored with the dried peel of the bitter orange, a citrus fruit that’s mostly grown on the Dutch island of Curaçao. It can be purchased in the typical orange color or in blue. The blue version is artificially colored but popular due to the fun of making blue cocktails.
