The Satchmo Cocktail

  • Author: dellcove

The Satchmo Cocktail, a Sazerac style drink with a fruity, spicy tea twist. We’ve taken plum nectar, jasmine tea and ginger liqueur to blend with our favorite Kentucky bourbon for a drink recipe that makes us think of lazy New Orleans nights. Want to make this a sparkling drink? Swap out the ginger liqueur for ginger ale. Can’t find plum nectar or plum juice? Try using pomegranate juice instead.

  • Bourbon – 3 Oz
  • Ginger Liqueur – 1 Oz
  • Plum Nectar Juice – 2 Oz
  • Jasmine Tea – 1 ounce (brewed, steeped, and cooled)
  • Red Plum – 1/2
  • Mint or Basil Leaves for garnish
  • Red Plum Slices for garnish
  • Ice
  • Dell Cove Spice Co.’s Robin’s Egg Blue Cocktail Rim Sugar

Rim the chilled glasses with cocktail rim sugar, fill with ice and set aside. Put plum slices into cocktail shaker and muddle well. Add remaining liquids and ice. Cover shaker and shake well. Strain into glasses, garnish with fruit and herbs, and serve.

Bar Supplies:

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Rocks or highball glasses (chilled)
