The Millennial Pink Margarita uses pink lemonade instead of the more traditional lime juice as the citrus component. It gives a slightly sweeter taste and, of course, the lovely pink color. But if you’d rather stick to fresh lime juice, you can still get that pink shade with either a dash of grenadine syrup or a splash of unsweetened cranberry juice.
We always recommend that you choose a good, top shelf, tequila. With so few ingredients in the cocktail, the quality of the spirit is important.
The drink gets its name because, when we developed our latest shade of pink margarita salt, that we call Blush Pink, we couldn’t help noticing that the color bore a serious resemblance to what’s become known as Millennial pink. And we do love that soft, medium pink shade. So, of course, we had to make the margarita pink to match!
4 oz. Tequila
8 oz. Pink lemonade
2 oz. Triple sec
Place two margarita glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes to chill. Place a tablespoon or two of the margarita salt into a shallow dish. Rub the edges of the chilled glasses with the lime wedges and roll around in the salt. Set aside.
Add the tequila, pink lemonade and triple sec to a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, shake well and pour into the prepared glasses.
