New Orleans-style Hurricane Cocktail
One of the classic New Orleans-style drinks is the Hurricane cocktail, a boozy, sweet drink that blends rum with fruit juice. Trust us: This is the best Hurricane cocktail recipe out there. Why? Most people think of the Pat O'Brien's classic - but we think that super red drink is cloyingly sweet. This New Orleans classic drink recipe is bright and tasty, without being too sugary. Plus, you can easily make this in bigger batches in advance, if you're hosting a Mardi Gras party.
Ingredients
- Dark Rum - 1 oz
- Light Rum - 1 oz
- Galliano - 1/2 oz
- Fresh Orange Juice - 3 oz
- Unsweetened Pineapple Juice - 2 oz
- Passion Fruit Juice (or Nectar) - 1 oz
- Fresh Lime Juice - 1 oz
- Simple Syrup - 1 oz
- Angostura Bitters - Dash
- Dell Cove Spice Co.'s Forest Green cocktail rim sugar - for garnish
- Fresh Pineapple - for garnish
- Maraschino Cherries - for garnish
Instructions
Directions:
Rim your chilled glasses with the Dell Cove Spice Co. Forest Green rim sugar. Fill glasses with ice and set aside. Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Cover and shake vigorously for 1 to 2 minutes. Strain into sugar rimmed glasses and serve.
