Our buttered rum milkshake with popcorn recipe makes a boozy treat that adults will love – and the popcorn garnish makes this a delicious treat! This recipe came about a few holiday seasons back, when David and I wanted to pull together a quick treat for a night-in with friends.
It is a great combination of sweet and just a tiny bit of salty from the popcorn. Yes, it is alcoholic – but it is not too boozy if that makes sense. Plus, the recipe is super easy to tweak to make it a mocktail. (Just swap in whole or 2% milk, or even almond milk, for the rum.) Add in a spoon or two of Dell Cove® Kettle Corn popcorn seasoning, and this dessert-in-a-cup drink will satisfy your sweet tooth.

Buttered Rum Milkshake with Popcorn
- Yield: 3 big cups
Ingredients
Butter pecan ice cream – 1 quart
Dark rum – 2/3 cup
Dell Cove® Kettle Corn popcorn seasoning – 2 Tablespoons
Popped popcorn (we like caramel corn for this garnish) – 1 cup for garnish and snacks
Instructions
Combine ice cream, rum and Dell Cove® Kettle Corn popcorn seasoning into a blender. Cover the blender and blend until smooth. You may need to stop in order to push the ice cream down the sides.
Is the mix too thick? Add one ounce of rum at a time, until you get the mixture to the consistency you want. Then pour into your glasses, add popcorn on top as a garnish and serve.
