The bourbon eggnog fizz cocktail is a great hybrid drink for people who can’t decide between spiked eggnog and a glass of bubbly champagne. Not that we think this choice is fair because we love them both and both are equally perfect for holiday celebrations. We do tend to think of champagne as the default beverage for New Year’s Eve but there is no reason that it can’t be accompanied by some eggnog and even a touch of bourbon. Because egg nog (yes, we used the store bought) is so sweet, we like to use a dry champagne for this recipe.

We also couldn’t resist pairing the white drink with our midnight black cocktail rim sugar for that elegant tuxedo effect. This sugar adds a dramatic garnish that makes a statement and we love it for New Year’s Eve.

Fair warning, though, that this rim sugar is HIGHLY color saturated, to give it its vibrant tone. So , yes, your tongue might get some temporary color.
